MILWAUKEE (AP) ? Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will head to Florida a day later than expected to accept his party's nomination.
Aides to the Wisconsin congressman confirmed Monday that Ryan will fly to Tampa, Fla., on Tuesday.
GOP officials already have trimmed the convention by a day, to three days, because of the threat from Tropical Storm Isaac. The storm was veering northwestward over the Gulf of Mexico on Monday. It was expected to become a hurricane and possibly hit the Gulf region late Tuesday.
Ryan was in his hometown of Janesville, Wis., on Monday to speak to students at his former high school.
He planned to spend the rest of Monday working with aides before heading to Tampa to address the convention on Wednesday night.
